What is Baga’s House?
Baga’s House is a community-based nonprofit rooted in Clinton, Illinois, dedicated to giving people a fresh start through dignity, skill-building, and support. We host community events like the Fresh Start Job Fair and are developing a suite of hands-on training and mentorship programs designed to empower people who’ve been overlooked by traditional systems.
We’re here to help folks find purpose, reconnect with opportunity, and build something better—together.
Who can join Baga’s House programs or events?
Everyone is welcome. While we focus on supporting young adults, second-chance seekers, and those underserved by traditional education, our programs and events are open to all backgrounds and walks of life. If you’re ready to grow, we’re ready to walk with you.
What programs are currently available?
Right now, we’re focused on the Fresh Start Job Fair, which connects job seekers with local employers, support services, and workforce development partners.
We’re actively developing hands-on training programs in:
- Culinary Arts
- Digital Skills & Coding
- Urban Gardening
- Carpentry & Woodworking (coming soon)
- Automotive Repair (coming soon)
- Adult Literacy (coming soon)
Stay tuned—these programs are coming to life throughout 2025.
Is there a cost to participate?
We’re committed to keeping our programs as accessible as possible. Most events are free. Future training programs may include a small materials fee, but we’ll always work to provide financial support to those in need. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
How do I sign up?

Can I volunteer or become a mentor?
Yes, and we’d love to have you. We’re building a network of mentors, volunteers, and tradespeople who want to share skills, offer guidance, or just lend a hand at events. If you’ve got knowledge, heart, or time to give, there’s a place for you here.
What does a mentor do?
Mentors provide support and guidance to participants. This could mean teaching a skill, offering career advice, being a sounding board, or simply showing up. You don’t need to be perfect—just real. Mentorship at Baga’s House is about showing someone they matter.

We are currently supported by volunteers, community partners, and in-kind contributions. Once our 501(c)(3) status is finalized, we’ll begin accepting tax-deductible donations and pursuing grants to sustain and grow our programs.
